Taiwo Owatemi spoke at a rally organised by Secondary School Students in Coventry affected by the Government’s mishandling of A-Level Results, here’s what she had to say:
“The only people who failed this Results day were Gavin Williamson, Boris Johnson and the rest of this Conservative Government.
The Tories said they were levelling up Coventry; instead, they levelled down the grades of its future generations.
Astonishingly, Ofqual has now taken their guidance on appeals offline. This is an issue that cannot wait. We saw it coming from a mile off. They cannot keep Coventry’s young people in the dark about their future.
I’ve written to the Government demanding action now, so no student gets left behind and the same fiasco that occurred with A-Levels do not happen with GCSE students.”
