I was very happy to join the Terrence Higgins Trust at their event earlier this week with the Labour African Network to mark National HIV Testing Week in Parliament.
I discussed the ways in which HIV still disproportionately affects the Black African community in the UK. I also touched on the benefits of PrEP and on how tackling the stigma around HIV within the Black African community will be essential to increasing HIV testing, and therefore paramount to reaching our goal of ending HIV transmissions in the UK by 2030.
It was also great to see Ashley Dalton MP there and hear her first speech since being appointed a Health Minister – congratulations!
