It was an honour to join Veterans Minister Al Carns at Coventry Cathedral for the VE Day 80 celebrations.
With its bombed-out roof still standing, the Cathedral is a powerful reminder of the horrors of war — and the courage of those who ended it.
This may be one of the last big chances to thank the WWII generation. We owe them everything.
That’s why I’m proud the Government is stepping up support for today’s veterans — with a new UK-wide service, VALOUR, backed by £50m.
