It was wonderful to visit Joseph Cash Primary School’s breakfast club last week! The school was one of 750 schools selected for early adoption of the Government’s free breakfast clubs before the national rollout.
The clubs not only allow for the children to eat a nutritious breakfast, but also mean parents have some extra time to get to work in the morning. Additionally, the children and staff let me know that attending the clubs means the children have time to socialise and then settle down before class starts, which is great to hear!
The initial phase is a trial period, which the government is using to learn from different schools before expanding the program to all primary schools in England.
Thank you for having me, @josephcashprimary!
