Volunteering with Sewa Day

16 July 2025

I had the privilege of joining Coventry Sewa Day on Sunday to help pack food parcels for families during the school holidays. 🍽️📦

Sewa Day is a national charity rooted in the spirit of selfless service – sewa – bringing together volunteers from all backgrounds to support those in need. In Coventry, their work is especially vital during school breaks, when many families face increased food insecurity. Through their Food Bank initiative, Sewa Day distributes essential non-perishable items like rice, pasta, cereals, and snacks to ensure no child goes hungry while school meals are unavailable.

It was truly heartening to see our community come together—volunteers of all ages giving their time to make a difference. These efforts not only provide immediate relief but also foster a stronger, more compassionate Coventry North West.

If you’re looking for a way to give back, I encourage you to get involved with Sewa Day or similar local initiatives. Together, we can build a more supportive and resilient community.
