I recently spent time walking around Jardine Crescent, speaking directly with local business owners and shop staff about their day-to-day experiences and the pride they take in serving the community. It was great to hear from people who’ve built strong relationships with customers and who play a vital role in keeping the area active and welcoming.
I stopped by Jardine Cycles, a long-standing bike shop offering everything from repairs to electric bikes. The team shared how ongoing works in the area can affect footfall and visibility. Despite the challenges, their commitment to helping people stay mobile and active is clear — and it’s exactly the kind of local service we should be championing.
I also spoke with staff at several food shops, who told me about the importance of convenience and affordability for local families. These shops are more than just places to pick up groceries — they’re part of the daily rhythm of the neighbourhood, offering friendly service and a sense of familiarity that larger chains often lack.
I’m grateful to everyone who took the time to speak with me. If you run a local business or organisation and would like me to visit, please feel free to fill in your details on the form at the bottom of this page.
Your insights are shaping the conversations I’m having in Coventry and in Parliament, and I’ll continue to advocate for practical support that helps local businesses thrive.
