About Me

Becoming your member of parliament

Since December 2019, I have had the privilege of serving as the Member of Parliament for Coventry North West.

In the 2019 election, I won by a margin of 208 votes. In my first term, I had the pleasure of working with many different people, organisations and charities all over this wonderful city.

Therefore, I was honoured to be re-elected in July 2024, by a margin of over 11,000! Your trust in me means so much. Every day I work hard to make sure that Coventry is the best place to grow up in as well as grow old in.

Coventry is my home. The issues that affect you, also affect me and my family. As your Labour MP, I will always stand up for you – so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you require my support.

Prior to my election, I worked for our NHS as a Senior Oncology Pharmacist. I supported and cared for cancer patients and their families at their time of need.

I stood for election after years of frustration about the health disparities in this country, and seeing that decisions about the NHS were not made by the people who work there. I intend to fight for our NHS here in Coventry and when I go down to Westminster so that everyone has access to the highest quality of healthcare.

I am still a registered Pharmacist, which means every year I complete the necessary courses to stay updated on the profession.

Before Parliament

Community Focused

My number one priority will always be our community in Coventry.

Whether I’m giving assemblies in local schools, dropping off deliveries to the local food bank, or supporting local businesses – I’m happiest when I’m at home in the constituency.

I strongly believe that politics is a community service. If you have a problem locally or would like to raise something with me, I’m here to listen and advocate for you.

It’s my job to go down to Parliament and represent you and your views.

I am a Government Whip, which means I play a role in maintaining party unity and ensuring we pass legislation to deliver on our manifesto commitments. This also means I can’t make spoken contributions in Parliament or submit written questions.

However, when in Parliament, I stand up for my constituents by raising the issues important to them with the relevant Ministers and Departments.
