It was great to have such an informative and productive meeting with the new Detective Inspector for Coventry South and North West, Andrew Mitcham.
We discussed priorities for ensuring that our community feels safe in Coventry North West. So, we spoke about ensuring that there are more community forums across the constituency so that members of the public can meet with the police and express any concerns that they might have.
We also discussed the importance of ensuring there is a strong relationship between the police and the community, so that information sharing and local intel can be further strengthened. In relation to this, we also spoke about the importance of information sharing between my office and the police so that we can better represent the community.
We spoke about the innovative work that the police are doing in the West Midlands in terms of investing more in our neighbourhood police teams, and support them as well.
I look forward to working together in future to ensure the safety of all those living in Coventry.
