Flooding Summit

26 March 2025

I recently held a flooding summit with key stakeholders to understand how the flooding in development sites in Keresley has been allowed to occur, and secondly to understand what solutions are available to resolve the issue.

Present at the meeting were representatives of developers Bellway, Vistry, and Richborough, as well as representatives of Severn Trent, Coventry City Council Flooding Department, local Councillor Bea Christopher, and Keresley Parish Council. We had a long discussion and drew up a plan of action to resolve the mud and flooding issues that residents are experiencing near the site. This included plans to stop mud being spread across the roads, draining the ponds as well as any waste water, and laying new pipework connections in the long term.

I reiterated the importance of all stakeholders progressing as quickly as possible on these actions in order that we can implement both short-term and long-term solutions. I will be chasing up all relevant parties on any work that is falling behind and will keep you all updated as works progress.
