my work in westminster

In Parliament

It’s my job to go down to Parliament and represent you and your views.

I am a Government Whip, which means I play a role in maintaining party unity and ensuring we pass legislation to deliver on our manifesto commitments. This also means I can’t make spoken contributions in Parliament or submit written questions.

However, when in Parliament, I stand up for my constituents and issue to do with Coventry North West by raising them with the relevant Ministers and Departments.

parliamentary events

In Parliament I frequently attend events held by different organisations and charities which aim to raise awareness about a specific issue or campaign that they are running.

As legislators these are really helpful for keeping up to date with different issues that certain sectors are facing.

Have a look to see what I’ve been getting up to recently!

transparency - all my claims

my expenses

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority was established to oversee the introduction of new rules and the stringent administration of the payment of expenses and allowances to all Members of Parliament to enable them to carry out their duties.

The expense and allowance claims of Taiwo Owatemi MP can be viewed on the IPSA website.

All claims are published bi-monthly and include the full costs paid for renting a constituency office, as well as equipping it; all phone, stationery and postage costs; all staffing costs (including staff wages and employer pension and national insurance contributions); and any travel and overnight stays in London when Parliament is sitting.

Schedule a visit

We can organise visits and tours of Parliament for Coventry North West constituents.

For groups of over six people, it takes a little longer to organise, so please take this in mind when organising your visit.
