Christmas Card Competition

22 December 2025:  Each year, I invite pupils from schools across the constituency to take part in my Christmas Card Competition, celebrating the creativity and festive spirit of young people in our community. The competition gives children the opportunity to design a Christmas card that could be chosen as the official card sent out for the festive season.

This year, I received a fantastic range of imaginative and thoughtful entries, making it a very difficult decision. However, one design truly stood out. I was delighted to select Maksim from Radford Primary School as the overall winner for his wonderfully sweet and festive Christmas card.

Announcing the Winner at Radford Primary Academy

It was a real pleasure to visit Radford Primary Academy to announce Maksim as the winner during a special school assembly. Sharing the news with his classmates and teachers made the moment even more special.

During the assembly, I presented Maksim with his prize of three tickets to the pantomime, generously provided by The Albany Theatre. I am very grateful to The Albany Theatre for supporting local young people in our city and helping to reward Maksim’s fantastic achievement.

It was also a joy to hear the talented Nursery children sing some wonderful Christmas songs, adding to the warm and festive atmosphere. Thank you to all the pupils and staff at Radford Primary Academy for such a kind welcome.

Presenting the Winning Card at Speaker’s House

Following the school visit, I attended the Member’s Christmas Card Competition Showcase at Speaker’s House, kindly hosted by The Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, Speaker of the House of Commons.

I was proud to present Maksim’s winning Christmas card design at Speaker’s House, where it was signed and prepared to be sent to him, with a copy displayed there in recognition of his achievement. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate his creativity and see his artwork recognised in such a special setting.

Competitions like this highlight the incredible talent, imagination and community spirit of young people across our constituency. Congratulations once again to Maksim — a very deserving winner — and thank you to every pupil who took part.
